Each year, we look forward to the cool, crisp air, sweater weather, college football (so glad it’s back on) and so many fun, family activities that come with the fall season.

Family fun time has always been one of our top priorities, and our favorite way to build traditions while making memories as a family.  With so much going on in our daily lives, Taria and I make sure to schedule fun activities to do with our boys.

As COVID has changed many things for many people this year, we are adamant that it doesn’t get to cancel all of the fun!  Some of our fall traditions are here to stay!

Here is a list of our fall family favorites:

  • Outdoor/backyard movie
  • Make s’mores
  • Sit around a bonfire
  • Hot chocolate or hot apple cider bar (marshmallows, cinnamon sticks, sprinkles…..)
  • Visit the pumpkin patch or apple orchard (socially distanced style, of course!)
  • Rake leaves then jump in
  • Make-your-own candy apples
  • Popcorn bar (the topping options are endless, get creative!)
  • Pumpkin carving
  • Decorate/dress a pumpkin
  • Decorate the house for fall and/or Halloween
  • Backyard homegating (formerly known as tailgating)
  • Backyard BBQ (it’s always grilling season!)

Whether you’re making s’mores around the bonfire while watching a backyard feature or drinking hot apple cider in the kitchen while carving a pumpkin or making candy apples, be sure to snap pictures, laugh a lot, and take in the moments as they come!

What’s on your fall bucket list?

Since so many of our fall favorites can be enjoyed simultaneously, it is so much fun to cross things off the bucket list multiple times over.

Use our family care bucket list to brainstorm a list of family fun that is just right for your family. And then get busy making memories!
